Forum And Discussion

This forum is held 160 years, to the day, since the railways began in NSW in 1855 as the
New South Wales Government Railways. Billinudgel Station was Opened in 1895.

We are inviting all organisations who have a role or who are aspiring to provide public transport in our Ocean Shores/Billinudgel/Wooyung/Yelgun//Brunswick Heads/Mullumbimby areas. This forms a population cohort of more than half the Byron Shire. The lack of public transport in this area is appalling.

The venue is the Ocean Shores Community Centre Rajah Road, on Saturday 26th September from 11am to 1pm. We envisage a program with a 15 minute talk by each presenter plus a half hour film on the history of rail in the Northern Rivers. At the end of the presentations there will be a forum of the speakers with a Q&A format. We will have lunch available.

They will be very welcome to have a table with printed material, giving an opportunity to speak with the public.

We recognise public transport is an issue for the whole of the Northern Rivers and are hopeful that any solutions to our local problems can be applied elsewhere.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely
